Beat the Boredom

Whether you’re heading to the beach, Grandma’s house, or just across town, these simple games can help keep kids entertained without a screen.

• The Alphabet Categories: Instead of finding letters in order, pick a category—animals, foods, or movies—and take turns naming something for each letter of the alphabet.
• Story Builder: One person starts a story with a single sentence. Each passenger adds one sentence before passing it to the next person. By the end, you’ll have a story no one could have predicted.
• Rainbow Hunt: Choose a color and see who can spot the most objects of that color before moving on to the next one. First player to complete the rainbow wins.
• Packing Challenge: Start with, “I’m going on a trip, and I’m bringing...” followed by one item. Each player repeats the entire list before adding a new item. Keep going until someone misses an item!

Sometimes the best trip memories come from the conversations and laughter along the way.
